Workshop Options
Raku - Pieces will be glazed and Raku fired on Sunday, so you can leave with your creations!
Functional work - We will glaze your functional pieces on Sunday and Pam will fire them in her electric kiln to be picked up at a later date.
Pam conducts intensive three day pottery throwing workshops designed to fit the individual needs of the participants for beginner, intermediate and advanced students.
Since this workshop is highly individualized, it is limited to five people.
Three day Throwing Workshop schedule:
Friday 9:00 - 4:00
Overview of clay preparation and throwing techniques.
Throwing demonstrations.
Throw pots.
Lunch
Work on improving skills.
Saturday: 9:00 - 4:00
Overview of trimming styles and techniques
Trimming demonstrations.
Lunch
Trim pots and throw more pots if time allows.
Sunday: 10:00 - 5:00
Overview of glazing styles and techniques
Demonstration of glazing techniques
Lunch
Glaze, laugh, glaze some more
Raku fire pots or, leave glazed functional pots to be picked up later.
More information:
Three consecutive days (approximately 21 hours).
Clay, glazes, tools and other materials are included.
Potter's wheel is provided for each participant.
Individual instruction and guidance at any level.
Catered lunches with beautiful views each day.
Use of all studio facilities.
Drinks and refreshments throughout the day.
